Frameless glass
Frameless glass, held in a low channel or with minimal clamps, all but disappears. It's ideal on raised decks overlooking mature gardens, letting the planting and stone take centre stage. We use toughened safety glass made for balustrades.
Metal and timber
Slim bronze, black or stainless metal balustrades suit stone villas well. Timber balustrades with refined spindles work on lower decks and traditional settings.
Steps
Broad, shallow steps feel generous. We can finish them to complement stone steps nearby, with nosings that are easy to see.
Lighting
Warm LED lights along step edges, under handrails and washing gently across stone walls create a beautiful evening setting. A transformer runs from an outdoor socket, fitted by a qualified electrician if needed.
Safety rules
Any drop over 600mm needs guarding, and we follow Building Regulations guidance on height, gaps and step dimensions. We fix every post into the frame rather than the boards.
Wiring
Lighting runs at low voltage from a transformer. A qualified electrician fits any new outdoor socket.
Your questions answered
Is frameless glass worth it?
If views matter, yes. It costs more than post-fixed glass but gives an uninterrupted, elegant look.
What lighting suits a stone house?
Warm white, low-level lights that graze across the stone and light the steps, rather than bright floodlights.
